Meat by-products

Ultra-processed dog food can contain parts from 4D animals — dead, dying, diseased, or disabled — unfit for human consumption.

Artificial preservatives

Chemicals like BHA, BHT, and ethoxyquin are used to extend shelf life for months or years — and have been linked to liver damage and tumour growth in animals.

Empty fillers & starches

Corn syrup, wheat gluten, and starchy fillers bulk up kibble cheaply but spike blood sugar, fuel inflammation, and offer little real nutritional value.

COMMON MYTHS

Why premium still means processed

“Kibble cleans teeth”

Kibble is starchy and soft — it shatters without scrubbing, leaving plaque behind. 80% of dogs still develop dental disease by age 3.

“Grain-free means healthier”

Most grain-free kibbles simply swap grains for potatoes and legumes — still ultra-processed, still high in starch, and now linked to dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM) in dogs.

“Premium kibble = real nutrition”

High heat processing destroys up to 40% of proteins and most natural enzymes. "Premium" on the label doesn't mean the nutrients survived the bag.
